Salesforce.com
the enterprise cloud computing company
Wantage, Oxfordshire, 09, June 2011 – Salesforce.com, the enterprise cloud computing company, has announced that nearly 70 per cent of local businesses attending its recent Cloudforce 2011 Essentials event at the Williams F1 conference centre in Wantage have made the move to cloud computing and are actively using the solutions today. The results came from a survey of delegates’ views carried out at the event.
Further highlighting the growing momentum behind cloud computing, 46 per cent of companies that don’t currently utilise the cloud in their business said they were planning to invest in cloud computing within the next six months, with another 47 per cent intending to do so within a two-year period.
The rapid growth in cloud adoption rates implied by these figures reflects analyst projections of dynamic growth for cloud computing over the next few years. Analyst company, Forrester Research recently predicted that the value of cloud systems globally will hit $241 billion by 2020, up from $40 billion today.*
